Armadillidium granulatum "White pearl"

Armadillidium granulatum "White Pearl" is a stunning icy-white morph of the granulated pill isopod, prized for its distinctive bumpy, textured exoskeleton and pearlescent finish.

These hardy, beginner-friendly isopods are perfect for newcomers to the hobby. Adults reach 1.8–2.5 cm and thrive at room temperature (18–26 °C) with medium humidity (60–80%). Provide a moisture gradient with a damp corner and drier side to suit their natural preferences.

Feed a varied diet of decaying hardwood leaves, white-rotted wood, fresh vegetables, and commercial isopod food or fish flakes. Ensure a reliable calcium source such as cuttlebone or crushed eggshells to support healthy shell development. A container of at least 5 litres encourages natural breeding behaviour and gives them ample space to explore.
