Armadillo officinalis "White Piña"
Armadillo officinalis "White Piña" — a striking ivory-white morph of the Mediterranean woodlouse. This large, robust isopod features a pearly carapace that sets it apart from wild-type specimens. Known for their ability to roll into a tight ball and produce subtle hissing sounds when disturbed, these are captivating invertebrates for experienced keepers.
Keep at 18–26 °C with medium humidity and good airflow. Provide a mix of damp and dry zones, deciduous leaf litter, rotting wood, and supplemental vegetables. Calcium sources like cuttlebone are essential. Though easy to moderate in care, this rare, collector-sought morph rewards dedicated husbandry with longevity and fascinating behaviour.
Grows up to a maximum length of 20 mm (about 2 cm or 0.8 inches) one of the larger sized Isopods.
Shipped as Juveniles, mixed.
