Cubaris sp. "Pak Chong Red"
Cubaris sp. "Pak Chong Red" — a stunning tropical isopod from Thailand with deep reddish tones that bring vibrant colour to any collection. These moderately hardy invertebrates can roll into a protective ball when threatened and are ideal for intermediate to advanced keepers.
Maintain temperatures between 22–26°C with humidity levels of 60–80% using a moisture gradient. House them in a well-ventilated container with 7–10 cm of nutrient-rich substrate combining coconut fibre, decaying wood, and leaf litter. Provide hiding spots with bark pieces or cork tubes.
Feed a varied diet of decaying leaves, white rotting wood, and vegetables such as carrot or squash. Supplement with protein a couple of times weekly and always offer a calcium source like cuttlefish bone.
Colonies reproduce steadily but not rapidly, rewarding patient keepers with strong, healthy groups over time.
Shipped as juveniles, mixed.
