Fillipinodilo "Giant Bumblebee"
Filipinodillo Giant Bumblebee — a large, striking tropical isopod with bold yellow-and-black patterning that commands visual presence.
These are slow-breeding, collector-focused animals suited to patient keepers. They thrive in humid tropical setups with deep leaf litter, bark or cork cover, rotting wood, and a stable damp refuge. Expect medium-high humidity, good airflow, and consistent calcium access via limestone or cuttlebone. Temperature range 18–26 °C.
Giant Bumblebee isopods feed primarily on decaying wood and leaf litter; supplement with calcium and occasional fresh foods. Colony development is gradual — stability and proper husbandry matter far more than rapid breeding. They may spend considerable time under cover, especially when newly settled, but a well-established colony will show satisfying activity around sheltered areas and feeding spots.
Best suited to keepers who value size, pattern, and enclosure design over constant surface activity or fast production. Not beginner-friendly; requires commitment to maintaining humidity, ventilation, cover, and nutrition consistently.
Shipped as juvenile mix.
