Yuukianura aphoruroide "Spanish orange springtail" or "Cheeto"
The Spanish orange springtail (Yuukianura aphoruroides) is a striking micro-arthropod prized for bioactive terrariums and vivarium's. Growing up to 4mm, these chunky, velvety orange detritivores are instantly recognizable—earning the nickname "Cheeto springtail" for their vibrant appearance.
These slow-moving arthropods excel at breaking down decaying organic matter, rotting wood, fungus, and mould, maintaining a healthy vivarium ecosystem. Unlike standard white springtails, they thrive in organically rich substrates such as coco-fibre with moderate moisture and good airflow.
Feed supplemental protein sources including fish flakes, nutritional yeast, to support their nutritional needs. Ideal for keepers seeking an active, visually distinctive clean-up crew that adds character to any bioactive setup.
They do eat slime mould but it is not necessary for keeping them.
Shipped as Juveniles, mixed.
