Cubaris sp. "White Shark" — Dwarf Terrestrial Isopod

A stunning Thai native measuring just 0.8–1.2 cm, the "White Shark" captivates with its tricolor pattern: bright orange head, creamy white midsection, and deep blue-black rear. When curled, it resembles a shark in motion.

Unlike many rare Cubaris species, these isopods breed readily once established, making them perfect for building a thriving colony from a small starter group.

Care is straightforward. Maintain temperatures between 22–28°C with high humidity (60–80%+) using a moisture gradient setup. House them in a well-ventilated tub with 2–4 inches of organic substrate, sphagnum moss, and cork bark for shelter.

They thrive on decaying hardwood, flake soil, and leaf litter. Supplement with fresh vegetables, occasional protein such as fish flakes or dried shrimp, and calcium sources like cuttlebone.

Ideal for keepers seeking a visually striking, easy-to-maintain isopod that rewards patience with rapid population growth.
